Publishing

History

In 1962, Greater Media Newspapers was born in Central New Jersey when parent company Greater Media, Inc. purchased two weekly newspapers in southern Middlesex County. In 1972, the company launched Greater Jersey Press, a commercial web offset printer specializing in newsprint based printing. In addition to printing the company’s own newspapers, the modern plant, located in East Brunswick, N.J., prints about a dozen other area periodicals with a monthly volume totaling nearly 1 million copies.

Since the beginning, Greater Media Newspapers has been dedicated to excellence in publishing and to service of the local communities where it does business. The papers are embraced by the communities where they are circulated, providing the "local connection" that is often overlooked by the large dailies, with in-depth coverage of local news, high school sports and community events and issues. Greater Media Newspapers also strives to provide outstanding service and results for its advertisers by being responsive, creative and collaborative. The company has grown into a family of 12 weekly newspapers reaching 305,275 households in Monmouth, Middlesex and Ocean counties, and has earned more than 200 awards for excellence in publishing and advertising in the past 10 years.
